Australasian Health Facility Guidelines (AusHFG)
The AusHFG represent a significant body of freely available information to assist health services and project teams to plan and design health facilities.
The AusHFG resources are updated regularly to ensure they align with contemporary models of care and design approaches and support the delivery of person-centred care.
The updates are completed through a consultative approach with expert clinicians, operational staff, technical experts and consumer representatives.
The AusHFG are governed by the Australasian Health Infrastructure Alliance (AHIA), a collaboration between the various public health authorities across Australia and NZ.
Why become a consumer representative?
- Share your lived experience to help improve and influence future Renal Dialysis Units Standard Components.
- Along with other consumer representatives, provide a consumer perspective to improve health services and the experience of others using the service.
Purpose
The purpose of the Consumer Representative participation in the Renal Dialysis Unit review is to collaborate with the Australasian Health Facility Guidelines (AusHFG)
team and appointed design consultants to review and update the relevant Health Planning Unit (HPU) guideline document that will assist project teams in the planning, design and construction of Renal Dialysis Units across Australia and New Zealand.
Role of the consumer
The role of consumer representatives on the ERG is to provide input relating to:
- planning and design recommendations that promote the delivery of person-centred care with a focus on improving the patient/consumer experience
- the incorporation of lessons learned relating to direct experience from patients, consumers, carers and other consumer representatives/advisory groups
- the provision of more accessible and welcoming services that meet the needs of the range of users of the health service regardless of age, disability, gender, culture or background.
Who is it for?
This opportunity would suit a consumer or carer representative that has had life experience in regard to Renal Dialysis.
Time and location
One initial meeting in February 2025, with the opportunity to attend additional meetings to review the HPU. The last review meeting is scheduled to be in June 2025.
Following completion of the revised documents through the ERG consultation process, they will be issued to the Australasian Health Infrastructure Alliance (AHIA) for final review and endorsement.
Remuneration and Support
