Training for Health Consumers

Are you interested in representing your community to influence health services, and systems?

HCQ are proud to provide training sessions to support current and future consumer representatives to advocate for change, share their experiences, and feel confident in the consumer representative role. HCQ supports community members to have their voice heard, and to make a positive impact on healthcare across Queensland.

Each training session is friendly, casual and supportive. HCQ training facilitators aim to help people feel confident to share ideas, thoughts and feedback. Through our training sessions we hope to connect with current HCQ consumer representatives, and welcome new representatives to the network.

We deliver this training as part of our contract with Queensland Health, so there is no charge for individuals to attend. Queensland Health staff are encouraged to contact us about their consumer network training needs.

Organisations outside of Queensland Health are welcome to contact us to discuss options for group training sessions. You can read more about our training, along with a list of FAQs, on our Training and Skills Building page.

HCQ acknowledges the diversity of lived and living experiences, knowledge and perspectives of all health consumers. We are thankful to all consumer representatives for their contributions to the sector and the positive impact they have achieved for their community.
